Opportunity Details

The average company spends 4% of its turnover on waste management costs? Why throw your money down the drain when you can register your waste with us for free and find a re-use or recycling outlet?

Why Waste is a free waste exchange managed by Bradford Environmental Action Trust (BEAT). Why Waste came out of the Pennine Waste Exchange which initially covered Bradford, Calderdale and Kirklees Districts. Why Waste covers the whole of the Yorkshire and Humber region and is free for businesses.

The Why Waste free service offers:

  • On-line waste listings – the opportunity to register your waste or resource requirements on line or browse through materials wanted and waste available.
  • Staff time to make exchanges happen.
  • On-site visits – to assess waste and give advice on options
  • Information on suitable recyclers in conjunction with Recycling Action Yorkshire

The website lists waste materials from polythene to plasterboard, office furniture to pianos. There are thousands of community groups and recyclers across the region looking for resources. Your company may be able to help.
