Mentoring is a great way to share business skills with community organisations and an invaluable resource in the voluntary sector. Working alongside senior managers from the voluntary sector your business skills and experience can help support organisations that provide vital services to the District.

Be Involved matches managers and business leaders with the leaders of social enterprises and community organisations. The participants are encouraged to work together on key business issues and find solutions to the challenges faced in the community sector. Mentoring is a great opportunity to share experience and skills and provides personal development opportunities to both partners:

• To share expertise and experience and develop management skills
• To develop new skills and increase your understanding of issues and practices in the business and community sectors
• To network with other businesses
• To make a vital contribution to the development of a strong and sustainable community sector

Typically a mentor will make a commitment to meet their partner at least 6 times per annum for one or two hours to discuss key issues such as leadership, business planning, finance, marketing, human resources, Mentors may also have further discussions with their partners via phone calls and emails.

Be Involved will find you the right match, provide guidance in mentoring and facilitate your first meeting. Our team will be there to support you and help you to make the relationship successful.
