Success Story
Nature Trail, Bird Hide and Planting Area @ Hoyle Court Primary School
Volunteers from Bradford and Bingley made some exciting plans for the schools grounds at Hoyle Court Primary School come to life in March!
They sent 22 volunteers for the day to help the school achieve their ambitious plans to improve the outdoor environment at the school.
The volunteers split into two teams to complete all of the tasks. The first team created a nature path through a woodland area by clearing brambles. They also created a series of special habitats to attract mini-beasts into the woodland and built a bird hide for the children to stand behind and observe the new wildlife!
The other team had the huge task of clearing, digging over and marking out a huge planting area for the children to plant fruit, vegetables and a sensory garden.
A volunteer from Bradford and Bingley said ‘Teamwork... everyone got on well, worked hard, job done.’

| Organisation Details | Hoyle Court Primary has been selected to take part in the ‘Habitat Heroes’ programme, which is currently running in six primary schools in the Shipley area. The project aims to increase and sustain the involvement of children, young people and the wider community in their natural heritage by raising awareness and understanding of biodiversity. The project is funded by Shipley Area Committee. The aim is to create natural habitats within the schools grounds. This includes features like ponds, bog gardens, tree planting, willow weaving, wildflower meadows, raised beds and outdoor classrooms.
